Heather's Home Daycare
Where children can imagine, dream and grow in a quality care environment
Our Day
My Curriculum
I am using a Play-Based curriculum that I create around the interests of the children in my care. If, for example, they are showing an interest in animals, we may take a trip to the zoo, a farm or perhaps have a visit here from a worker from the city pound. We may draw pictures, make a collage or use dramatic play to talk about animals. We may bring a toy or something that represents our pet to show the other children. There are opportunities in everything that can allow us the chance to explore and learn.
Children are amazing little beings with an unstoppable curiosity. I allow children to play, explore and learn about different concepts in their expanding lives. Every day is an opportunity to do something wonderful. We dance, we sing, we read, we connect, we create, we explore and we have fun doing it!

Snack will include 3 food groups (usually bread/grains, fruit/veggies and dairy) *if your child has allergies, please provide a healthy substitute for mealtimes |

|
2:00 pm Craft time |
As children wake, they may participate in a craft activity. Crafts are sent home with your child at the end of each week. |
|
3:00 pm Outside again! |
Outside play again (weather permitting) Playing outside lets us explore nature and learn about the world around us; our effect on mud puddles, snowmen, leaf piles or sidewalk chalk! While school is in, this is the time we usually walk to the school where we will play in the park until the bell rings. |
|
4:00 pm Afternoon snack |
One final snack to quite rumbling tummies after a day full of learning and playing. Again, snack includes 3 food groups (usually bread/grains, fruit/veggies and dairy) *if your child has allergies, please provide a healthy substitute for mealtimes |
|
4:30 pm Clean up activities and get ready for home time |
Organize bags and such for home time. Save unfinished works of art, then free play. Children also like to help me to prepare my supper, and are learning valuable math and science skills as they do! *we may watch a little TV while children are leaving to give me time to speak to parents about their child’s day! |
|
6:00 pm Dayhome is closed (my family needs me too!) |
See you soon! Make sure you check your child’s bag for soiled clothes, notices from the agency and/or works of art! |
